Don't believe the naysayer's who say there's nothing to do in Colorado Springs. There are plenty of unique art galleries, restaurants, and live entertainment shows in the Colorado Springs area.
If you're looking for a great family-friendly option for entertainment, we recommend the Stick Horses in Pants comedy improv group. They perform regularly throughout Colorado Springs, Old Colorado City, and Manitou Springs.
There are other comedy improv groups in town, such as The R.I.P, who are the most comparable in quality, professional entertainment but their prices are nearly double of Stick Horses in Pants. Plus, their content is less than family-friendly. There is also Improv Colorado, but don't waste your time paying for one of their shows and thinking you've seen a comedy improv performance.
Check out The Stick Horses in Pants if you're looking for an inexpensive outing the whole family can enjoy. They've been performing in the Colorado Springs area since 2004 and are definitely worth the small admission fee.

An incredible live, clean comedy show in Colorado Springs
Take a look at the great entertainment we have in the Colorado Springs area. Locally, we have an improv comedy troupe who have won awards for Best Live Comedy, Best Artist, Best Actor (Toby Lorenc) and Actress (Lacey Maynard), Best Theater Troupe, and the list goes on.
The Stick Horses in Pants provide a great alternative to expensive movies and other entertainment. Most of their shows are $10 or less for adults and you get to be actively involved with their spontaneous, clean comedy (however, they are very gracious to not involve you if you don't want to be in the spotlight). All their content is created by the audience, starting each game with an "ask" (a.k.a audience suggestion) and then creating an impromptu scene based on the suggestion.
It's a great night out for a date, family, or just friends. Now, the Stick Horses has partnered with The Loft Music Venue to book the 2nd Friday of each month for an hour-and-a-half comedy show. The shows start at 8:00pm and usually run until almost 10:00pm with a small intermission.
Although there are several improv groups in the Colorado Springs area, the Stick Horses are different. Their shows are clean and family friendly. And...they're actually amazing entertainment for this community. I've seen improv on cruise ships, major cities, and top-notch conferences but these guys are better than any of the groups I've seen.
The group has been together since 2004 and you can tell they "know one another." They work well together and put on an amazing, entertaining show.
Take a look at their upcoming dates:
Friday, April 12 2013:
You can save a little money by purchasing tickets online through the Loft, but even if you buy tickets at the door ($10 each) it's totally worth the price for over an hour of side-splitting entertainment.

Pizzeria Rustica and other gems in Old Colorado City
The Colorado Springs area is filled with unique shopping districts and incredible dining options. For instance, there's a treasure located in the historic Old Colorado City called Pizzeria Rustica. The atmosphere is hip and inviting in this 1889 historic building, plus it's an award-winning restaurant for its artisan-style pizza. Ask for patio seating during the summer, or enjoy the cozy indoor dining year round. Try the Quattro Stagioni pizza and have the knowledgeable staff recommend the perfect wine pairing! It's closed Monday and Tuesday, so make reservations for your outing so you don't miss out on this gem!
While you're in Old Colorado City, check out the unique shops and art galleries, plus other events year round such as the Art Walk on the first Friday of each month, 5pm - 8pm. Plus, the entertainment community is active and vibrant at the new Loft Music Venue, booking national music names and local Colorado entertainment like Stick Horses in Pants comedy improv group.

Stick Horses in Pants live comedy improv is inexpensive family entertainment
Have you ever seen the show Who's Line Is It Anyway? and wished you could be part of the audience? Well, now you have your chance to see a live comedy improv show with the local theater troupe Stick Horses in Pants.
The Stick Horses have been around since 2004 and started right here in Colorado Springs. Although they keep busy with company parties, weddings, corporate events and entertainment at various functions, they also perform regularly in Colorado Springs. Their shows are family-friendly and open to the public.
Come see them create comedy on-the-spot, using audience suggestions to form scenes with their short-form improv. It's a great family event because it's inexpensive entertainment, and family-friendly! Tickets are $8.00 for adults, and $5.00 for students and military (and you can get this price for seniors if you ask).
Their next show is coming up quickly - Saturday, March 5th at the Broadmoor Hotel Theater. In the meantime, check out some of their hilarious videos on YouTube.
